@Wilto Where the hell do you get an IE6 to run your reduced test case in?
Dear Mastodonians
I am very pleased to announce the release of my latest film "Final countdown".
Over the past months I have been thoroughly researching the Ukraine war, to bring you a well founded analysis and answer the key question: Is Putin losing the war?
I have good news… so watch it for free on YouTube:

or watch it ad-free and support me on Patreon ($):

@randahl Wow, that is an impressive video.
I really hope that @joinloops will become a good alternative some day.
@Gina @fiend4coffee @joinloops It will as we get more users
@mariusor @TTimo Just while ago I saw they have official support page saying
"Custom or open source Android builds, including CyanogenMod, GrapheneOS, and LineageOS, are not supported. Strava relies on Google Play services to function, so devices running de-Googled or custom operating systems that do not include Google"
Old saying "if it doesn't work, I don't need it".

@Wilto Spinning up the hard drive to run aforementioned test case.
I really hope that @joinloops will become a good alternative some day.

@afewbugs @astronomerritt haha, me too, but they keep me a long way away from students 😀
(Literally: my team is based on a site where undergrads aren't allowed)
@WiteWulf @astronomerritt we have some labs they're not allowed in, but September Is Coming and I will soon have to make sure they don't start blowing themselves or anyone else up in novel and inventive ways that usually manage to be different from the terrible things they did last year and are thus difficult to predict.
They're amazing, the ones who end up with us do tend to be engaged and interested which is always great to work with and it's not like I can claim to have had any common sense at their age, but this coming term does tend to be the splodey one

In a few years, these glasses will be as inconspicuous as ordinary glasses, and it will be impossible to ban them.
New: Axon says cops are asking it to change its license plate readers to make them look less like Flock cameras. This is because people keep vandalizing Flock ones. Axon said it is looking to change the design. CEO said this in a now deleted webinar, but we got a copy https://www.404media.co/cops-are-asking-axon-to-make-their-cameras-look-different-from-flock-so-people-dont-destroy-them/
Top USPS officials expressed concerns that new mail voting rules could delay or block ballots from reaching large swaths of eligible voters for the upcoming midterms, but the rules moved forward anyway, ProPublica has learned.

VOTE EARLY AND IN PERSON.
@fiend4coffee @joinloops It works well, functionally. @dansup is doing a really good job at it. Now it just needs community.
@Gina cool, yup def
It's worth noting that when Brussels did something similar the average commute time went down. It turns out that driving quickly between places you stop doesn't actually make a measurable improvement on your overall journey time but (as queuing theory predicts) the extra slowing down and speeding up reduces the throughput at traffic lights.
@david_chisnall Bus lanes on the M25 had a similar effect, albeit at higher speeds. Speed management improves flow, reducing the delay ‘shocks’ due to heavy braking and acceleration.
@Gina I have yet to try that app, how is it?

@TTimo how did it fail for you? I tried installing Strava on my Sailfish OS with Android and microg support and it went well, but I'm not able to login, and being told to contact support.

@canion I should finally give y'all a listen some day, I heard good things!
@nileane I’m just impressed you’ve heard! ❤️
I like the idea of the whole enchilada because I think I'd be pretty disappointed if somebody tried to give me a half-eaten enchilada.
